Shiva, Dragons and more...
Though they are infrequently seen out in public at the moment, The Angel Brothers remain hard at work. As proof we offer minute-long clips from four exclusive new tracks featuring new members Sandhya Sanjana and Volker Zipplie. Click here to go to the music page.
Keith Angel writes…
Although it all seems uncharacteristically quiet on The Angel Brothers
front at the moment, the band have actually been busy working on sessions
for a new album, which will feature the fabulous Bombay–born vocalist
Sandhya Sanjana. We are working closely
with Sandhya on the majority of our new material and she will be debuting
with the band on our forthcoming Canadian tour, which starts in Vancouver
on 14th of August.
It has been a real pleasure and an inspiration to work with Sandhya and
the new stuff sounds very exciting. We intend to record as many pieces
as possible ‘live’ in the studio. We’re not rushing
things – so expect a spring 2007 release ( sorry folks!)
In addition to the Angel brothers album , I’m working on an album
of my ‘poems’ and (very!) short stories with musical contributions
from Dave Formula. The stuff is being read / performed by my beloved actor
friend, Benedict Relton. I’ll try and get it finished by the end
of summer & it’s provisionally entitled either ‘Nostalgia
for a Future Passed’ or ‘Asbestos Garage’ I can’t
decide at the moment…It’s kind of a natural development from
my Tall Tales of Touring affair –for which
I’ve just written a couple more 100% true
pieces.
Are all drummers frustrated writers – and vice versa- I wonder?-
Must ask Ian McMillan…
You can find a sneak preview from my forthcoming opus on the Tall
Tales page – ‘Ode to an African
Toilet’ and ‘Love Bites’.

Forbidden Fruit
The
new Angel Brothers album is finally available. We dragged Keith Angel
away from the mixing desk to say a few words about Forbidden Fruit:
"Four things were the main inspiration for the new album: Our own
musical roots and heritage. Our travels and musical meetings in Andalucia.
Our love for the film scores of David Axelrod, John Barry, Roy Budd and
Ennio Morricone. The love of a good groove. Forbidden Fruit was concerived
to be passionate, diverse, cinematic and irresistible."
